Capucine’s Vertices

28 February 2019 • Leave a Comment

In the next few articles I’m going to publish here, I will try to cath up on some projects I knitted in the last few months (years ?)… Let’s begin with a shawl I made during Spring 2017… Yes, 2017 ! No, I’m not late…

For a very long time, Capucine has been asking me to knit her a shawl. There are quite a few shawls arounf the house but there are mine (mostly) and, if I accept to lend her one from time to time, she wasn’t happy with it, she wanted one for herself… After many months of negotiations, I indulged ! I had already made a big Vertices Unite (from Stephen West) for myself the previous winter (even though, now, Pilou has claimed it to be his own, but it is another story) and I knew the smaller size would be perfect to use up some small yarn leftovers…

I dove right in (like I usually do) in my stash to get lots and lots of small leftovers of single fingering yarn (mostly from La Bien Aimée). And that was it ! I had to play a little with colours to finish some sections as I didn’t have enough yardage for some colours, which makes it a unique shawl !

It was a fun and fast project to knit and my little girl is happy with it ! Proof, 2 years later, she still wears it a lot and, sometimes (but not very often), she accepts to lend it to me…

So I made 2 vertices Unite who were claimed by Pilou and Capucine, so none is around my own neck… I think I need to knit a 3rd one…
