Today, we visited friends to eat some cakes and meet there youngest daughter.
Long before the birth (4 months ago), I knew I wanted to gift her a small knitted gift which would be really appreciated, I knew it, by the parents. But, until four days ago, when we finally found a day to see each other, I had done nothing !
I stressed a bit, then I turn to my all time favorite knitting patternfor little girls’ gift : (Petit) Artichaut, by Solenn Couix-Loarer.
I find it to be the perfect gift knitting pattern : it is fast to knit, easy, but with enough nice details to keep it interesting to knit and the result is always so nice !
This time, I dove into my stash and used this one skein of Walk Collection BFL DK, rest from Amelia I knitted last hier for capucine. And I’m always so in love with this colourway. It’s fun, feminie, springy and super girly…
I wanted to make a 12-months size. As I used a bigger yarn than recommended (DK instead of fingering), my gauge was off and I had to adapt a bit the pattern.
To get a 12-months size, I used stitches instruction from 3-months size and rows instruction from 6-months size, with a little bit of hacking in between. And the result works ! Hooray !
