2new knitting patterns in 10 days… and 2 blog posts in less than a week… 2017 begins well ! If we just forget the nearly 3 months of silence : it was for a good cause ! 🙂 But I warn you : don’t expect the same rythm all year long, you might be dissapointed… 😉
Truth be told, the knitting pattern I’m introducing today was ready for a long time. It is, in fact, the baby blanket I knitted while pregnant last September. Everything was ready : the chart, the written explanations .I just had to work the page layout and organize the test-knit, but at this stage of my pregnancy, I was too tired, just couldn’t do it. So, the pattern waited its time until my brain was a (little) bit more available…
After Madeleine ‘s birth and a few weeks to find a new pace in our family life, Sweet Arrows is finally published and available !
Pregnant, when I thought about the little knits I would do for Madeleine, I could only pictures soft and sweet colors : light grey, white, soft pink… Which is rather unexpected because, while pregnant of Capucine (my oldest daughter which is now 5), I refused everything pink (“too cliché !”). Everything change… I still fight cliché but I don’t forbid myself to knit pink if I want to, especially when it is a gorgeous as this one… 🙂
I knew i would use Gilliatt from De Rerum Natura.I repeat myself, but I just love those yarns : light, squishy, soft… After looking in details at all the colors, I decided my baby blanket would be in this soft light pink called Quartz, But, alas, it was not in stock when I was ready to order it… I contacted solenn (from De Rerum Natura) to know if and when it would be back in stock and she told me she still had some skeins… I ordered it and, as soon as I received them, I begun my baby blanket.
i wanted this baby blanket to be simple (remember my tired pregnant brain) : a large garter stitch border, a simple easy-to-remeber pattern made only of knits and purls… With 5,5 mm needles, it went up really fast ! It was gratifying…
Unexpected bonus point : the blanket is reversible ! The arrow pattern is interesting on the wrong side too… 😉
Besides the baby blanket, I also knitted baby slippers Little Chausses and a lovely bonnet Little Heaume, by Solenn, en Gilliatt and an adorable bonnet Béguin de Printemps de Julie Lili Comme Tout.
when Capucine was little, I used to found bonnets too classical, I completely changed my minds : it is adorable around 2 sweet little cheeks…
