Tassel

Step 1

Ta make a 9-cm-long tassel (approx. 3.5 cm),wrap the yarn around your hand about 20 times.

Notes :

  • To create longer or shorter tassel, wrap the yarn around a piece of cardboard cut to the desired length.
  • By doing more (less) turns around your hand, you will get a more (less) full tassel.

Step 2

Cut a length of yarn (approx. 20-30 cm/8-12”). Pass this starnd between your hand and the yarn and make a double knot around the yarn, at the top of the (future) tassel.

Step 3

Cut another lenght of yarn (approx. 30 cm / 12”). Make a slipkot to one end of the length.

Pass the slipknot around the tassel, from the top, and tighten.

Step 4

Hold the small length of yarn from the slipknot toward the bottom of the tassel.

Wrap the long length around the tassel (approx. 10 rounds), tightening the rounds gradually, next to the previous round. The small length of yarn from the slipknot is bound under the wraps.

When you have done approx. 10 wraps, make a double knot around the last wrap with the help of a tapestry needle, the pull the strength of yarn under the wraps, from bottom to top and cut the yarn close to the wrap.

Step 5

Cut the yarn at the bottom of the tassel and even up the length.
